Being a woman in a male-dominated hip-hop industry must be stressful at times. Struggling for respect and a sense of understanding from people who can be discriminatory, degrading and just downright nasty to the opposite sex.
Men pride themselves in basically exploiting women for simply their bodies or sex appeal without paying attention to who they are. There is, no doubt, a massive double standard. However, there are two sides: women are enabled with the ability to manipulate men because of their appearance while at the same time, they can also be put-down or humiliated for it.
It all depends on how you carry yourself and how YOU think of yourself. In the end, nobody can tell you how to live your OWN life. Your the only one who dictates that. So live it up, have respect for yourself... And do what makes you happy without compromising who YOU are.
p.s. watching this trina interview changed my mind about her a bit
Question: Can fashion and winter actually work with each other?
Hmmm.... My drawers are filled with summer clothing. Dresses, tank tops, sleeveless shirts. What to do... It makes me miss summer so much!
Anyways, the answer is: YES
You don't have to look like an over-stuffed potato bag when trying to stay warm. All you have to do is layer properly. You can do "heavy" on the top, and tight on the bottom. Like pairing a tank top and long-sleeved shirt with a sweater.
Her book is a MUST-HAVE for any fashionista. I'm so serious on that. She let's you in on everything from shoes to dresses to tops, how to get jeans that fit your body type, lingerie - everything.
Forever 21 was founded in 1984. It began as a small store specializing in apparel targeted towards Korean-Americans. This first store was actually only 900 sq ft. The store's revenue jumped from $35,000 to $700,000 in it's first year.
As of 2007, the store's revenue was 1.3 billion dollars. That's insane.
Now, I was skeptical at first but bought it anyway. If it didn't work I'd just use it for the colour. But to my surprise... it works quite well!
It smells like cinnamon and 5 minutes after you put it on, you can feel it working. It plumps your lips a little bit for a natural effect. Makes them shiny, and it's not even sticky! Best of all it was only $3.67 Canadian Dollars... it's obviously even cheaper in the U.S.
I got a light baby pink colour called Hel-pink-i.. weird name but I love the tint/colour/shine.
This is actually one of my favourite lip glosses! I can't stop looking in the mirror right now...
I've really been into Forever 21 lately. I'm downtown all the time, so I've been going every other day or at least once a week.
Forever 21 has decent quality dresses and I'm infatuated with their accessories. As for their cheap basics (cotton tees) those are way too THIN. You have to layer them.
I'm planning on posting fashion and make-up hauls on my blog and possibly make youtube videos, so watch for that...
These outfits are from their tres paris collection - it came out this week. I doubt I'm getting anything from it because I've spent SO much recently. But I love the looks. It's limited edition too.
I've noticed that in this world, most people are scared. Why do you live if you're scared? You're here ONCE. May as well make your dream a reality. You want a better example? Take a lesson from Scarface - one of my favourite movies. Once you've done that, you can take a lesson from me and continue to watch what I do.
